Yearbook staff is an elective in which students participate in chronicling the events of the year in The Crown. The staff aids in choosing the theme, selecting the cover, planning and arranging pages and sections, taking pictures, writing copy, and meeting general deadlines. Along with the yearbook sponsor, their goal is to produce lasting memories to be cherished by students, staff, and parents.
MUSIC
Elementary music classes feature both theory and appreciation. Singing groups provide an outlet for vocal talent. Choruses perform during the year in chapels and school programs. Musical performing groups are trained to reach out to the community with the message of God’s love.
SPEECH/DRAMA
KCS is committed to the training of young people to speak out with clarity and distinction. The dramatic talents of students are finely tuned through a variety of materials and exercises.
The Speech/Drama Department teaches the basic skills of oral communication, dealing with a variety of speech venues from impromptu to memorized text.
In both the elementary and the middle school, participation in the FACCS Regional and State Drama and Language Arts competitions is encouraged. Students perform recitations, readings, and monologues in festivals and programs. KCS has received top honors in written and oral competitions for the past two decades.
